Latretu
The snake has struck again
my wounded heart corrodes.
A lethal medley of poisons
hides beneath bright flowers.
It is the deadliest of brews;
sweet words amidst the venom
I take the acid out of the bite
and twist it into empty words.
What comfort can be found
in such lies and empty words?
The serpent drinks in the sweet words
and dies of emptiness

| I'm going to take a break from posting on this one. I need to put more of my poetry on this computer.

Can you see
nothing?
That is
what I am
A shadow of
His light
A zephyr in
His hand
Can you
feel nothing?
That is
what I am
An
invisible girl
An
untouchable soul
Can you
love nothing?
That is
what I am
A mortal,
cursed human
A scarred
and broken heart

Surrounded
by light
One shadow
remains
Cursed,
alone, afraid
Bleeding in
silence
Shamed to a
fault
Damned to
its core
Abandoned
by hope
Rejected by
love
Scarred by
faith
The shadow
cries
For all
that it is not
Afraid to
be alone
To die by
herself
Do not let
her die
Loneliness
chokes her
The shadow
fades
Faster
every day
Each new
pain
Every new
rejection
Cuts
through her
Surrounded
by light
She sees
her reflection
A shadow of
light
Cannot live
long
A shadow of
hope
Cannot hold
on
A shadow of
love
Cannot hold
fast
A shadow of
life
Is fading
now
Please find
this shadow
Please,
save her now

| Remember
when you fell?
I wanted to
hold you then.
Shyness and
deceit held me back.
But I took
your bloody hands, worrying.
How they
hurt when I grasped them.
My heart
twists with every tear on your face.
Every tear
I put there, on that face I love.
How I wish
I could take your tears and make them my own.
How I hope
that you can forgive me again.
How I love
you, how I hate my clumsy love. |
